there’s a lot of vintage out there. like… a lot.
every rack has something that almost works. good brands, good eras, pieces that look right for about three seconds — until you actually look at them properly.
most of it doesn’t make it into shy.

not because it’s bad. just because it’s a bit off.
sometimes the fit is weird in a way that can’t be explained (but you can feel it immediately). sometimes the fabric looks expensive but feels like a curtain. sometimes it’s technically “cool” but you already know you’d never reach for it.
those ones get left behind.
what makes it in is usually the opposite.
pieces that sit properly without adjusting them ten times. things that work with what you already own. things you don’t have to convince yourself about.
you put it on and it just… makes sense.
shy isn’t about finding everything. it’s about being a bit picky. maybe annoyingly picky.
but that’s kind of the point.
